Good old mac and cheese… So simple but so tasty!

SERVES: 4 Sims

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • pinch of paprika
  • pinch of turmeric
  • 4 tablespoons (60 ml) flour
  • 2 cups (500 ml) milk
  • 1 1/2 cup old cheddar
  • 1 package (about 12 oz or 340 g) elbow macaroni
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

METHOD

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat butter and olive oil, add onion and cook until translucent
  2. Add paprika, turmeric and flour while whisking until the mixture forms a paste and the flour is cooked (about 2 minutes)
  3. Gradually add milk and cheese and stir until cheese is completely melted
  4. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil, add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes (or until al dente)
  5. Drain pasta, add to cheese mixture and mix well
  6. Season with salt and pepper
